Ten years after AppShack: Andrew at AGA, Udesh at DCodex — investors await answers on withdrawals
Andrew Tan and Udesh Chaskar are not entirely separate profiles. Public records connect both to AppShack Asia, a startup support platform in Malaysia during 2015–2016. Three other people appear in AppShack's public record: Dato' D.K. Tan, Jin Tan and Nitin Gupta.
Their paths diverged after AppShack. Andrew and Jin continued their business association at TinkBig Venture/TBV Capital. Jin developed ReSkills. Udesh appeared at AllChat World and later ARCB; in April 2026, ARCB announced a collaboration with ReSkills.
This sequence documents a professional network across several stages.

1. Five people and their AppShack connection
| Person | Publicly described AppShack role |
|---|---|
| Andrew Tan Yan Hoang | CBDO; named by e27 among the founders |
| Jin Tan | Founder & CEO according to e27; CEO & co-founder according to Crunchbase |
| Dato’ D.K. Tan | Chairman according to e27; co-founder according to Crunchbase |
| Nitin Gupta | CTO and co-founder according to e27 and Crunchbase |

2. 2015: AppShack emerges in Malaysia's startup ecosystem
e27's 2016 launch coverage says AppShack was established in 2015. Its model was described as connecting startups with investors and partners, alongside technical support, business structuring, legal advice and fundraising.
AppShack linked its selection process to a reality-show-style pitching programme. Its founders were presented as startup evaluators offering opportunities for funding, mentoring and development support.
In this setting, titles such as CEO, CBDO, CTO and Chairman describe different public roles within the same organisation.

3. 23 March 2016: launch coverage identifies the leadership team
e27 reported AppShack Asia's official launch in Kuala Lumpur on 23 March 2016. The article listed D.K. Tan as Chairman, Jin Tan as CEO, Andrew Tan as CBDO and Nitin Gupta as CTO, and described them as founders involved in evaluating startups.
This contemporaneous reporting supports the identification of four publicly presented leaders. Udesh was not named in that list.
By contrast, AppShack's Crunchbase profile lists D.K. Tan, Udesh, Jin and Nitin in its founders field, but not Andrew. Udesh's individual Crunchbase profile also describes him as Managing Director/Co-founder and includes an entry ending in January 2016.
All five people are linked to AppShack through different public sources.

4. During 2016: Andrew and Udesh follow different branches
Andrew and Jin: from AppShack to TinkBig Venture
BurgieLaw's material for its Startup-Legal Conference 2016 introduced Jin Tan as Principal Partner and Andrew Tan as Venture Partner at TinkBig. This record from the event organiser shows both continuing to appear at the same firm after AppShack.
On 30 December 2016, Vulcan Post published an interview introducing Andrew as TinkBig's co-founder and Venture Partner. A BurgieLaw funding announcement dated 18 November 2016 also described TinkBig as led by Andrew in its investment in BurgieLaw.
These sources support a limited conclusion: Andrew and Jin shared a professional association at both AppShack and TinkBig.

Udesh: a role at AllChat World
Vulcan Post's article on AllChat World identified Udesh as CEO and discussed the app's activity as of 18 October 2016. This supports his publicly described role at AllChat that year.

5. TinkBig becomes TBV: a regulatory record of the Andrew–Jin connection
The Securities Commission Malaysia's list of Venture Capital Management Corporations includes TBV Capital Sdn Bhd, formerly TinkBig Venture Sdn Bhd. Its entry lists Tan Yan Hoang (Andrew) and Tan Ting Jin as directors.
TBV's website introduces Andrew Tan as Managing Partner and Jin Tan as Principal Partner.

6. Late 2020–2022: Jin Tan develops ReSkills
An interview published by ReSkills on 16 February 2022 identifies Jin Tan as CEO and says the platform was established in December 2020. This information was published by the company itself.
ReSkills represents a separate development in Jin's career.

7. 12 April 2026: ARCB announces a ReSkills collaboration
RTM Malaysia reported that ARCB Asia launched its Malaysian operations and signed two memoranda of understanding. Udesh was introduced as CEO of ARCB Group.
The first MoU involved ARCB Asia, ReSkills and JLM, targeting AI application programmes in universities, starting with UiTM. The second involved Kanzun Ventures Management and Rakyat Trustee Berhad, with the aim of developing a fund for the halal ecosystem.
Read alongside Jin's role at ReSkills, this is a new organisational connection between Udesh's business ecosystem and a company led by Jin.

8. Why does this history matter to the current review of Andrew and Udesh?
Andrew: the AGA CEO role and withdrawal warning
KOLCHECK's Andrew profile records his public presentation as AGA's CEO. On 16 January 2026, Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission warned about an investment product marketed by Gold Fun and Angel Guardian Alliance Technology: it had not been authorised by the SFC for offering to the Hong Kong public, and the regulator had received reports of withdrawal difficulties.
The warning concerns the product and two businesses; it does not identify Andrew as someone found guilty of a crime. His advertised CEO role provides a basis for requesting explanations about his authority, tenure, handover and investor protection measures. It does not, by itself, prove that he misappropriated funds.
Bridge Water Trustee's website currently introduces Andrew as CEO, responsible for investment execution, risk management and compliance. This article has not established his exact appointment date.

Udesh: the DCodex COO role and unresolved withdrawal reports
KOLCHECK's Udesh profile records his presentation by DCodex as COO and compiles reports of unresolved withdrawals. These are editorial records and reports published by KOLCHECK, rather than a regulatory ruling.
ARCB's website currently introduces Udesh as Governance Partner. This confirms how ARCB publicly describes his role, but does not establish that ARCB owns DCodex, guarantees DCodex's obligations or received money from DCodex investors.

9. What connections are documented, and what remains unproven?
| Connection | Available evidence |
|---|---|
| Andrew–Jin | Public AppShack leadership roles; shared TinkBig/TBV affiliations; both named as directors in the SC document |
| Andrew–Udesh | Both linked to AppShack through different sources |
| Jin–Udesh | Shared AppShack network; an ARCB–ReSkills MoU announced in April 2026 |
| D.K. Tan–AppShack group | Chairman/founder role in the 2016 sources |
| Nitin Gupta–AppShack group | CTO/co-founder role in the 2016 sources |
Conclusion
Public records identify AppShack as an early point of connection among these five people. Andrew and Jin continued their business association at TinkBig/TBV; Jin developed ReSkills; Udesh appeared at AllChat and ARCB; and ARCB announced a ReSkills collaboration in 2026.
A long-standing network can build credibility. But credibility does not replace transparency over funds or accountability to investors.
Editorial note and right of reply
A history of professional connections does not, by itself, prove that all five people jointly operated AGA/DCodex or jointly committed fraud. Investor reports are distinguished from official records.
